Happy Monday! It’s a beautiful fall day here in New York City, and we can’t wait to hear all about Megumi’s trip to Italy for ArteCinema this past weekend. They screened HERB & DOROTHY, and I’m positive the audience loved it, as Herb and Dorothy seem to be able to capture the hearts of people in all corners of the world.
This past week, we’ve been so flattered to be featured in several notable blogs and websites. Thank you to the writers, editors, curators for shining a light on us!
So without further ado, I’m happy to introduce you to our “Love From The Community” Round 2 (click here to see Round 1), in case you missed these articles this week.
We’re truly blessed to be receiving the support that we do. So much love!
Design*Sponge (10/12/11) – “Great Documentaries To Fund”
The Post Family (10/12/11) – “Herb and Dorothy 50X50″
Art ID (10/12/11) – “HERB & DOROTHY 50X50, A Follow-Up To The Award-Winning Documentary”
The Kindle Project (10/13/11) – “Kickstarter: Microphilanthropy and Community Building”
Among the interesting angles in each of these articles, what I found so true were these words spoken by someone who knows Kickstarter well, the company’s Communications Director, Justin Kazmark.
He says, “Building community around the project is a big part of it. Many project creators feel this is more important than the money itself – it’s about connecting one on one with people that could be your supporters and at the end of the project the creator has a very real sense of who their community is.”
We couldn’t agree more. Our experience with this campaign is that our supporters are becoming our community, as we reach out, connect with, and hear from our supporters daily.
It’s been a truly moving experience. With just 19 days left in our campaign, we’ll be speaking up and reaching out even more, in hopes of (really) connecting with those in the HERB & DOROTHY community.
Thank you for all the messages, tweets, blogs, and emails. We’ve been reading everything from you, as they’re what propel us forward each day.
So much love,
